Transport from SNA

Hi

I'm coming to LB in September, flying into John Wayne Airport. What is the best way of getting from there to Laguna Beach, bearing in mind I'm on a bit of a budget. Is public transport possible with baggage?

Laguna Beach TO John Wayne Airport will cost you about $40 - it's usually a flat rate- but they won't flat rate from the airport to Laguna Beach. I'd suggest you let the driver know that you're aware of the $40 rate and see if he'll honor it. If not, then expect to pay a few bucks more. A lot depends on traffic too - so keep in mind if not flat rated, this is just an approximate.

Have you looked into any of the shuttle services? You can get a shuttle for less - like $29 one way (Orange Country Cruiser - (949) 586-4347). They might be among the least expensive. Also, try calling Super Shuttle (800) 258-3826. The John Wayne Airport has a list of shuttle services on their website - see: ocair.com/groundtransport/shuttles.htm - might be a good idea to check around since you are on a bit of a budget.

This may be too late for keys666, but there is an route 76 bus (runs hourly) operated by OCTA (Orange County Transportation Authority) that would take you from SNA bus stop outside Terminal B to the Newport Transit Center. There you can transfer to route 1 operated by OCTA that would take you from the Newport Transit Center to Laguna Beach along the Coast Highway. The fare is only $2.50. It would take some time (about an hour if the transfer is not too long), but if you have the time, it would save you $$.
