Marriage Proposal in Laguna

Hi,

In a last minute "hopelessly romantic" moment, my gf and I are flying down to Laguna Beach next week, and I've decided to propose to her there. I'm just trying to find the ideal romantic place to stay. My preferences are:

-on the beach
-more leaning towards cottage or beach house vs a hotel - but if the hotel is more initimate than your standard Best Western, I'm open-minded
-parking available for one car
-I'm not fussed with $$ -- this is a special weekend after all

Can anyone suggest some good locations?

How exciting! On the hotel front - well, really an Inn, an award-winning Bed and Breakfast, I'd recommend Casa Laguna Inn: http://www.lagunabeach.com/casalaguna

If money truly is no object, you could look into renting the Pacific Edge House - your own private beach house with private deck right on the sand in Laguna Beach: http://www.lagunabeach.com/vacationvillage#pacificedge

I guess one can never be too careful saying "money is no object." Eeeps!
I called Vacation Village, and they seem to have some reasonably priced rooms available at their regular place. Ocean Front with mini suite going for $246 + taxes + $12 parking. I tried calling Casa Laguna 2 days ago, and their cottage is booked. I inquired about the other rooms, and mentioned I was going to propose in Laguna Beach, and he quite literally talked me out of it by mentioning that the suites faced out on to the highway. Would prefer something on the "right side of the road." I think Vacation Village is on the beach side. Love to hear your thoughts on Vacation Village.

Thanks for your inputs...we stayed at Casa Laguna, and it was perfect. Victoria Beack was quite beautiful, and we were very fortunate to have excellent weather while we were there.

We've been enjoying the first days of engagement with family and friends, and it's been a great time in our lives. I actually proposed on Victoria Beach. It was very quiet that morning, blue skies, and 24 degrees in November! I couldn't have asked for more.

This forum was a great resource for planning this trip, and I thank all of you for keeping this forum active.
