Try any of these places - all laid back, good place to hang out and have drinks - Sandpiper, White House and Ocean Avenue Brewery, For more of a dance crowd and more than just shorts and flip flops - try Mosun Club M.

Sam2299, where are you from?

I'm from the United Kingdom and I visited Laguna Beach in April 2007. I really enjoyed the Sandpiper (a dark and dingy laid back pub). There is no dress code there - you can wear whatever you want. You can usually find some pretty cool bands playing there. Also, the staff are really friendly.

If you want something a bit smarter, try Club M. It's a night club with a dance floor, DJ, etc. We found the people there very friendly - they were keen to chat to us Brits! The dress code is smart casual (I wouldn't wear trainers/sneakers). We wore jeans and a shirt.

The Ocean Brewery is awesome! We met loads of friendly people at the bar. It serves good pub-grub in the day time and, at night, it has a good dance floor and friendly club atmosphere. However, be warned, it is a bit quiet on most nights. I think the busy night is Tuesday.

On the whole, the night life is very quiet in Laguna Beach unless you choose the right places on the right nights. If you can manage that, you'll have an awesome time.
