Vincent Farrell, famed artist of Laguna Beach for over 45 years died in his sleep on Sunday November 2, 2008. He was 80 years old. Vincent lived in Laguna Beach California with his wife Barbara. He studied under Sergei Bongart in the 1960\'s. In the 1960\'s his paintings were typical in style to many impressionist painters. However, in the 1970\'s he was one of the few Laguna Beach plein air painters to use bright colors and bold strokes in his landscapes, seascapes, florals, and portraits. His brightly colored impressionist works became much sought after in the 1970\'s, 80\'s and 90\'s. Many of his paintings were of Laguna Beach landmarks, including: Main Beach, Crystal Cove, Moss Point and Laguna Canyon.

Does anyone have any info on services for him? I haven't been able to find an obituary in any of the papers.

There was an obit in the Orange County section of the Los Angeles Times. His daughters are planning a memorial at Heisler Park but the date is not set as yet. Permits are needed from the City of Laguna Beach.

Hello, I have an original painting from Vincent Farrell. It was a painting that was commisioned for him to do for in the 1980's. Titled " Sunflowers". I am the original owner of this painting. It's in perfect condition. I am looking for a collector of his work. And may want to sell it. Anyone with info... can you please email me @ tinavangils@yahoo.com
