I am looking for ideas on how to spend the day in Laguna Beach. We would like to celebrate a friends birthday and thought we could spend the day at the beach and then have dinner at a nice beach-front restaurant. But then we would have no place to change or shower for dinner, and we wont be spending the night. Any ideas?

josueandsandie,
There are showers at Main Beach - perhaps not like comfort of your own, but you can at least rinse off. There many places/restaurants to go in the Main Beach area. Give us a better idea of what type of food and atmosphere you're looking for and we'll give you suggestions.

Thanks for your help, what is "main beach"? We were thinking of something where we can hang out at the beach for a while, walk around shops, then eat at a restaurant on the beach or as close as possible, something with a beautiful view. Any ideas?

Main Beach is just that: The main beach right in downtown Laguna with all the shops and restaurants right behind you.
A good spot to eat or just have a drink is the Terrace restaurant in the Hotel Laguna, right there on the beach. It's a bit expensive but you are sitting outside right on ocean front with a great view. It's totally casual. Just walk into the hotel's entrance and walk on through to the back.
Can't be beat!

Also Las Brisas is one of the closest restaurants to the main beach and it is GORGEOUS. You can check out their website.
Main beach is where the volley ball courts are and right near Inn @ Laguna Beach, which is where I've always stayed while traveling there.

Sloane - try French 75. It's very romantic and gets great reviews!
