this show sucks......... there is a freakin war going on iraq and all u guys can talk about is a bunch of rich brats trying to become famous. what a good use of your time.

I think that's just the point…

With so much negativity going on in the world, it's nice to sit down and watch a bunch of rich attractive people bickering over who's going out with who. Sure, that kind of stuff is insignificant, but it's refreshing to watch a TV show and not come away from it feeling like you're going to be a victim of a drive-by shooting or a terrorist bomber.

Don't get me wrong, we should all be aware of what's going on in the world, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of escapism for half an hour each week.
