I know that Laguna Beach has many restaurants that serve fresh seafood, but does anybody know of a place where you can choose your live crab and they can cook it? Like most piers such as San Pedro or Redondo has??? Or anywhere close to Laguna Beach?

Oh...and I'm not talking about just 1 crab. I want to buy like 2 pounds.

There are popular "crab shack style" restaurants like Joe's Crab Shack (949.650.1818) and the Crab Cooker (949.675.8445) ten miles north of Laguna Beach in Newport Beach (and they're both by the water).

However, when it comes to selecting a large Dungeness crab straight out of a tank (OK, I can see the crabs, but the waiter selects one for me), my personal favorite is King's Seafood in Laguna Hills (24001 Avenida de la Carlota, Laguna Hills, CA 92653 949.586.1515). It's nowhere near the water, in fact, it's in a brick building next to the 5 Freeway and the Laguna Hills Mall, but it has some of the freshest Dungeness crab this side of the Santa Barbara Pier and you can eat it there or have it to go.

There is a fairly new laguna crab restaurant on Broadway called Crab Zone.
